Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Program
APICS Twin Cities Chapter is pleased to announce a new alliance with
Trusight (formerly Employers Association, Inc.). This
alliance will offer APICS members a comprehensive Six Sigma Green Belt
Certification Program that will help organizations achieve the benefits of
improved customer satisfaction and financial performance.
The
Certification Program is facilitated by a Six Sigma Master Black Belt
(SSMBB) and consists of four parts.
(1.) Two days of classroom training on Green Belt Tools & Techniques;
(2.) Hands on training by candidate’s participation in an on-site Six Sigma
project led by a SSMBB; (3.)
Preparation and oral presentation of a final project review; (4.) A written
test to verify the certification candidate’s knowledge of the tools and
techniques of Six Sigma.
The classroom
training will cover the importance of management involvement, the use of the
DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), project
based process improvement, and instruction/practice in using the most common
statistical Green Belt tools.
Each Green
Belt Certification candidate will be assigned a project selected by the
SSMBB and the host company that will exercise the DMAIC methodology of Six
Sigma. This project will not be
a case study, but a project that focuses on a real customer and financial
needs of the host company. The
project will be planned and executed under the supervision of the SSMBB and
will take 13 to 14 weeks to complete.
The Green
Belt Certification candidate will be part of a team of five Green Belts and
contribute to the two hour team meetings per week with an additional 3 to 4
hours a week of action items to complete the DMAIC phases of the project.
The focus of the project can be on a manufacturing, service or
transactional process deemed important by the host company.
To get the
host company acceptance of the project results, the Green Belt candidates
will develop and present sections for the final project review.
This review will follow the outline of the DMAIC and show the
improvement in customer satisfaction and the bottom line of the host
company. Following the final
project review the certification candidates will take a written test to
verify the candidate knows the Green Belt Tools & Techniques of Six Sigma.
