Rich Greig, CPIM

Chapter Board Responsibility: President

Rich Greig is an independent consultant and educator, providing companies and educational institutions with assistance in establishing effective processes, policies, and education in Operations Management and Lean Manufacturing.

Rich is certified as CPIM (Lifetime Member) and has been a continuous member of APICS since 1979.

Rich served on the Board of Directors of the Twin Cities Chapter from 1992-2005, serving in several Board positions as well as President of the Chapter in 1998-99.  Rich was selected as the Peter Berglund Member of the Year for the Twin Cities Chapter in 2008-2009.

Rich also serves the Chapter as Director of Instructors for both CPIM and CSCP Certification programs.  In addition, Rich has been an Instructor in the CPIM Body of Knowledge for the past several years, receiving the honor of Instructor of the Year in 2006.

Rich has been a speaker at several APICS events, including: keynote speaker at the Professional Development Meetings in September 2008 and December 2009 for the TC Chapter, a speaker at the Leadership Forum at the International Conference in Kansas City in 2006, and was most recently a co-presenter of the June 2010 Seminar for the Twin Cities Chapter.

In addition to teaching opportunities for the TC Chapter, Rich is an Adjunct Instructor at Metropolitan State University where he teaches Operations Management, as well as an Adjunct Instructor for Moorhead State University’s extension program in the Twin Cities where he has taught Lean Manufacturing & Methods Improvement (both in classroom settings and online).

Rich and his wife, Brenda, live quite happily in Chanhassen.


Joe Soule', CPIM

Chapter Board Responsibility: Vice President Programs

Joe Soule', CPIM, has been a member of the Twin Cities Chapter since 1987 serving on the seminar committee for a number of years and as Vice President of Seminars in 2000-2002 and as Chapter President in 2002-2003. In addition, Joe served as Vice President of Programs in 2006-2008.  Joe is a three-time chapter “Member of the Year”. He has over 30 years experience in Manufacturing and Information Technology support, working as a production planner, and Service Desk - product consultant. He holds a BS degree in Marketing from Xavier University, New Orleans, LA. 


Lyle Henning, CIRM

Chapter Board Responsibility: Past President

Lyle Henning is a Manager/Consultant in the Manufacturing and Distribution group of LarsonAllen, a CPA, Consulting & Advisory firm. Lyle has spent the past 5 years performing research tax credit studies for a wide variety of clients including precision metal manufacturing, plastic injection molding, food production, software development, medical device manufacturers, OEM’s, chemical manufacturers, and printing firms.
Prior to becoming involved in Research and Development Tax Credit projects, Lyle spent over 15 years working with manufacturing firms in various consulting projects including continuous improvement, Quick Response Manufacturing, long-range facility planning, warehouse space planning and office/manufacturing process analysis. He continues to consult in these areas in addition to his R&D work. He also has an active leadership role in the internal Continuous Improvement team at LarsonAllen.

Lyle has an MBA in business administration from the University of St. Thomas and a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Minnesota. He earned his CIRM certification in 2004.

Michael Tapper

Chapter Board Responsibility: President Elect

In February 2010, Mike acquired the Minnesota & North Dakota business from PSC Group and launched Enterprise Consulting, LLC.  With Enterprise Consulting, Mike leverages his expertise in ERP & CRM business software to help customers realize maximum value from their enterprise software investments.  With 28 years of Information Technology experience and 17 years in Information Technology Consulting, he has brought a reputation for delivering high integrity services and strong client relationship management to clients in Minnesota and throughout the Central U.S.  Additionally, Mike has been a member of APICS since 2005 and currently serves as the President-Elect for APICS Twin Cities Chapter.

Previously as Vice President, Operations with PSC Group, LLC, Mike opened and operated PSC’s first branch location in Minneapolis/Saint Paul Minnesota beginning in 1999.  Over the next 10 years with PSC, Mike was responsible for startup and growth of the Minnesota operation, provided leadership over ERP services company-wide and held a position on PSC's executive board.

As a Managing Principal with New Resources Corporation, Mike was responsible for the startup and growth of the New Resources Minnesota branch office. In his 7 years with New Resources Corporation, he held positions of increasing responsibility, including Consulting Department Manager and National Director of Consulting. Prior to New Resources, he held an Information Technology Director position with MTI Vacations of Oak Brook, IL and also worked for GE Fleet Services and Fansteel Metals in the Chicago area. He began his Information Technology career with 5 years of service in the United States Navy assigned to serve on the U.S.S. Vulcan in Virginia and with the Naval Data Automation Facility in Illinois.

Mike is best known for his management of client relationships and successful projects. His approach of listening and understanding his client’s situations and needs, and then using that knowledge to bring the best people and solutions forward has consistently provided long-standing client relationships and repeat business.

Mike received his Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. His personal interests include marathon running (24 completed), bowling (2x 300 games), and travel.


Jim Drennen

Chapter Board Responsibility: Vice President Marketing & Sales

Jim has been active in APICS since 1992, serving on the Board for the Toledo (OH) chapter.  After earning his CPIM, Jim taught certification courses for APICS in Northwest Ohio.  Jim and his family moved to the Twin Cities in 1998.  He is the Vice President/General Manager of Source One, an alliance of suppliers transacting business via Source One’s web-based electronic supplier kanban system.  (See www.sourceonealliance.com )  Jim holds a BS degree from Heidelberg College and an M.B.A. from the University of Toledo, and is on the faculty at The College of St. Scholastica, teaching a variety of marketing classes.

Jim is that rare breed of manager with experience in manufacturing, distribution, operations, and marketing!   He has held positions of Director of Procurement, Materials Manager, and Division Manager, in addition to Director of Marketing, National Sales Manager, and Product Manager.  “My experience in materials and supply chain management has made me a much better marketing person.  It is one thing to study a field; it is another to live with its challenges.”  To that end, Jim’s philosophy on marketing can be summed up in these words: voice-of-the-customer.  “Nothing in marketing is more exhilarating than discovering and fulfilling the needs of a target market in such a way customers become company advocates and loyal beyond belief.”


Chuck Nemer, CPIM

Chapter Board Responsibility: Vice President Membership

Chuck Nemer has over 31 years of experience with organizations in all phases of Operations (Manufacturing, Office, Healthcare, and Education).  His ability to lead, integrate business processes, and critically think out unique solutions, is used to successfully assist clients in understanding their organizational dynamics and implement improvements.

His business philosophy is based upon his belief that in today’s highly competitive environment companies must constantly change and constantly adapt to thrive and survive. In addition, he believes solutions can be and should be foundationally built and simple

His style of consulting and teaching is to provide hands on and interactive learning.  People learn by engaging, understanding the ”why” behind their decisions as well as the impact of their decisions.  Clients are guided to the solution.

His broad and extensive subject matter expertise enables him to provide training in areas as diverse as Operations/Materials Certification Programs, Lean, Purchasing and related topics, Project Management, Communications, Leadership, Team Dynamics and Knowledge Management.

Chuck has a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in Leadership from Augsburg College.  He participates in APICS both locally and nationally and is certified as a CPIM.  Chuck teaches and consults in APICS certification courses, Operations Management, Leadership and Lean for Manufacturing, Healthcare, Office and Education.  Chuck also teaches drug store management classes for a major retail pharmacy chain.


Jim Ogren, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP

Chapter Board Responsibility: Vice President Education

Jim Ogren has been a member of the Twin Cities Chapter since 1975.  He earned his CFPIM in 1982, CIRM in 1998, CSCP in 2007, and holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration.  He has served as president of the APICS Twin Cities Chapter, and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2003.  Jim has contributed as CPIM certification exam item writer, and is currently an instructor of CPIM Review Courses.  He has authored APICS educational materials on the topic of successful ERP implementations.

 Jim has earned a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt from the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and has served as a reviewer for ASQ published textbook materials. 

Jim has been involved in manufacturing for over 30 years, as a practitioner and as a consultant. His experience includes supply chain management, managerial accounting, ERP systems implementation, and manufacturing management at the executive level.  As a consultant, he has assisted over 100 companies implement ERP systems.


Derek Owusu-Mensah

Chapter Board Responsibility: Vice President of Finance

Derek Owusu-Mensah is a Senior Financial Analyst at Allianz Life Insurance Company located in Golden Valley, MN. He is a new member of APICS joining in 2009.  Derek attained his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Management Information Systems (CMIS) from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and is currently pursuing an MBA degree with emphasis in Finance and Marketing from the University of St Thomas in Minneapolis, MN with an expected May 2010 graduation date.

Derek is OPEX Blue Belt Certified. OPEX (Operational Excellence) is the Allianz Life quality management approach for process improvement, change management and project management and draws from several quality management programs, including Six Sigma, Lean Management and TQM (Total Quality Management) but is adapted to the needs of financial services. It focuses on improving customer satisfaction and reducing costs. He also plans on obtaining his CPIM certification. Derek was born in Accra, Ghana in West Africa.


Jolyn Stacy, CPIM, CSCP

Chapter Board Responsibility: Vice President Academic & Career Development

Jolyn is currently a Global Sourcing Manager with Lifetouch National School Studios.  Her primary expertise is in Supply Chain Management, with specific focus upon Strategic Sourcing and Continuous Improvement.  Additionally, Jolyn has 5 years of Medical Device experience with Medtronic and 8 years in the Telecommunications industry with ADC Telecommunications.

Jolyn holds a B.S. in International Business from St. Cloud State University and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of St. Thomas.  She is also APICS CPIM and CSCP Certified.

Jolyn began her involvement with APICS at St. Cloud State University with several roles in the Student Chapter, including President.  She has held a number of leadership roles with the APICS Twin Cities Chapter including Director of Continuing Education, Vice President of Education, President-Elect, President and most recently Past-President.  Jolyn has also served as a CPIM Review Course Instructor.


Dory Reddan

Chapter Responsibility: Chapter Administrator

Dory joined the APICS family in 1979 after a career in education. This part-time position gradually progressed to full-time, as the chapter membership grew and services expanded in the areas of technology, certification programs, and seminars. Dory manages the chapter office, responds to callers, maintains member records, handles event registrations, and assists the board of directors with special emphasis in the areas of education programs and seminars. Dory graduated from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa with a BA degree in psychology and education.


Natalie Dietz, CPIM

Chapter Responsibility: Chapter Administrator Assistant

Natalie joined the Twin Cities Chapter of APICS in April of 1999 to assist long-time Administrator, Dory Reddan. Some of Natalie's duties include the administration of the In-House Education Program, website development and maintenance, newsletter layout, and membership programs. In addition to supporting the Board of Directors, she also attends the Educational Policy Committee meetings. Prior to joining APICS, Natalie held various positions over 16 years at TSI Incorporated in Shoreview, MN. In her latest position as Manager of Purchasing and Administration, Natalie was responsible for purchasing, customer service, inventory, and administrative support for the Process Instruments Division. Natalie joined APICS in 1994 and received her CPIM certification in May of 1996.
